Providing the website

The website is provided through OpenAI Sites. Its technical runtime uses Cloudflare Workers and can provide database and file storage. When a page is requested, the platforms involved process technical connection data, particularly the IP address, requested address, time, and browser information. This is used to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website. The legal basis for operating the website is our legitimate interest in a secure, accessible website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not use our own analytics or advertising scripts on the website. Fonts and preview images are served with the website. The platform may use technically necessary logs and cookies; signing in, in particular, is subject to the platform’s terms. Further information: OpenAI privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy.

OpenAI processes personal data arising from the operation of the published website on our behalf. Sub-processors may be used, particularly Cloudflare for content delivery and web hosting. ChatGPT Sites currently does not offer a restriction of data processing to the EU or any other specific region; this also applies to database and file storage and technical logs. Processing outside the European Economic Area is therefore possible. The applicable data processing agreement describes safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses or relevant adequacy decisions. Settings in your browser

Your reading position, bookmarks, and selected settings are saved in your browser’s local storage. The website does not send these entries to its database. You can delete them in your browser.

YouTube videos

The video player connects to YouTube only after you consent. If you have saved the setting to load videos automatically, it also applies to later visits. The embedded player uses youtube-nocookie.com; the YouTube Player API is also loaded. Google receives technical data such as your IP address and browser information; processing outside the EU is possible. Privacy-enhanced mode does not prevent all data transfers. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Further information is available in the Google privacy policy.

On the homepage, the featured film can start automatically with its sound muted if you have already saved your permission to load YouTube. On a first visit, the player stays unloaded until you choose to allow YouTube and play. You can allow playback for the current visit without saving permission, or choose to remember your preference. Automatic playback is skipped when reduced-motion or data-saving preferences are detected, and your browser may also block it. Playback and sound controls remain available. You can withdraw saved permission using the button below.

Margin notes and submissions

Posting margin notes and workshop submissions is currently disabled. The website does not accept new text, contact details, or files through these features. Automatic checks using Turnstile are also not enabled in this version. Before these features are enabled, this notice will be updated to describe the functions actually activated and their retention periods.

Administration and sign-in

The library is accessible without signing in. Optional sign-in for administration uses ChatGPT. The website receives a platform user identifier and checks it against an explicitly approved list. No administrator access is currently enabled. The website neither requests nor stores a ChatGPT password. This check protects administration from unauthorized access.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability where the legal requirements are met. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
